...when you can watch the U.S. elections?
See, I live in Stark County, Ohio, the county all the news networks are calling the "bellweather" county of Ohio, so I'm as close to the heat of the battle as anyone. We're not going to know who won for a while, I'm afraid...

Blah blah blah.......I'm sick of Bush..I'm sick of Kerry.....who are the lessor of two evils?

Hm, so can we blame you for this one :) I turned in about 10P last night when I determined that nothing was going to be decided

I thought this was the US election... every tom dick and harry over here hasn't shut up about it (Me included, ;) When can we expect a final result?
Last I heard was there was 2 points in it, bush leading! Come on Kerry, I can't do with another 4 years of Bush, although, as Azn_Chic says, Kerry doesn't seem much better.
Then there is Tony Blair, boy... we have a truly brilliant set of world leaders. Yeah right! ;)

Well they just stated that the provisional votes in Ohio cannot be counted until 10 day after the election (Ohio law). So there wil probably be a trial to challenge that.
I've been following CNN's site: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/president/ - they seem to be a lot more conservative than what is being announced on some of the other news stations.
And this year's voting term (I think) will be provisional votes.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that Bush declared himself the winner, yet Ohio didnt count its votes yet and Kerry still has a chance to win?

Well, now they are saying that Kerry has conceded. I should quit watching the news & keep working :) But if it is true that Kerry has already conceded, that is bad.

And there was me thinking everybody was mistaken in saying that Ohio had not finished counting. I'm sure on AOL news this morning it said Bush had won Ohio, was it me who was tired or AOL up to their usual lame antics?

Corey... quote from AOL news (bare in mind this is AOL so dont take it as 100% certain)
"George Bush is set to declare victory in the
US presidential election - but his Democratic challenger John Kerry is refusing to concede defeat"

LOL - see what I get for listening to the news. And wasn't it just on Monday that the news networks said they were not going to do this?

It's on MSNBC now that Kerry called Bush to concede. Damn shame that.

lol. Lets face it, we won't know any outcome or anything similar until the official annoucement, and I bet ya... the news channels will still say different things.

Jerry indeed conceded, a classy move and one not without merit. I'm one of those who believed Gore should have won in 2000 based on the popular vote. The will of the people was for Gore to win. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't recognize the fact that the will of the people is for Bush to stay.
Look on the bright side - at least we know what the next four years will bring!

Yea what I'm getting from the news says Bush is going to win too, but still a lot of people voting, and since when has the news been 100% correct? ;)
My hopes are on Bush, but we'll see.

I dread to think of another 4 years like the last, what I can't understand is this... from the reports I have seen, it is looking most like Bush is going to get Ohio, but, I watched something last night and if I remember correctly, while Bush has being sat in The White House, Ohio has lost around 270,000 jobs (Correct me if that figure is wrong, but somewhere in the 200 thousands rings a bell). As well as that, there is everthing which has affected the whole country, the war on Iraq (Someone please explain to me how the war on Iraq came about, everyone assumed from the tradgedy of September 11th, but surely not, Saddam Hussain had nothing to do with it). <Rant over, plenty more to say but I better keep quiet>

Tony Blair is our best leader!! The opther parties are racists, clowns (seriously) and conservatives .... sold our oil we now import, closed mines, we now import what good is importing when we were exporting?!?! Not to mention the amount of jobs lost and education crap.
On to Bush / Kerry / little guy who I forgot the name of, Nader?
Last time I check Bush had 256 I think and Kerry had 242, any updates on that in the US?

Well CNN is reporting Bush with 254 & Kerry with 252. Right now - Bush is leading in Ohio with about 136,221 votes. There are approximately 150,000 provisional votes that still need to be verified & counted. And I am sure they will want a re-count in that state. Afterall, we are talking about 5,478,202 votes right now.

Ah yes, 254, still riding close, did Bush make that speech yet? A little to confident in my opinion ...

Kerry is scheduled to announce he is conceding the election at 1 p.m. Eastern time. Bush is scheduled to respond with his acceptance at 3 p.m.

Not to worry, all that money meant to cover my Social Security and Medicare in 40 years will take care of that little deficit problem ;)

That number of provisionals actually ranges from 150,000 to 250,000 depending on who you talk to.
At any rate, it's a shame that it's over and Bush is still in office. I'm not as disappointed in that as I am in my own state's gubernatorial election. We elected the slimiest weasel of a scumbag you could ever see. His name is Mitch Daniels. Look up his history with both IPALCO (Indianapolis Power and Light Company) and the drug industry in Indiana.
The short story is that he made (between the 2) in excess of $100 million while screwing 1) the employees of IPALCO who lost their life savings due to his mismanagement of the sale to AES, which caused IPALCO stock to fall and 401k's to essentially evaporate, and 2) seniors who can't afford the medications they need - he denied that prescription drugs cost too much while he was working for the drug industry, then blatently reverses his position while running for office.

Yea, well, my mom was an employee of IPALCO when all that went down, so it's a little personal to me.
It's just a shame that people are either too blind or stupid to see what this person has done. What's it gonna take for him to do the same to the state? Not much.

Gotcha. I'm sorry to hear that. Taft has pretty much let Ohio rot, so here's hoping you come out of the next few years a little better off than us even though you have this dirtbag running your state.
