Ok, the best way for me to explain whats going on is just to have you take a look at it. http://www.pookiestreehouse.com/profiles/mexico.html

the video is in .wmv format. i have the video embedded and it seems to cut off half of the video. Also, with you scroll up and down the page the video moves inside the screen. I don't have a media player to stop/play/rewind/etc...cause well, i just haven't figured that out yet..lol anyways, what i am wondering is why it is taking so long to load while youtube videos take like 3 seconds, and can i keep the same size without having the video partially cut off.

With most of the other videos on my site I have them uploaded into youtube which makes it a lot easier because there is a media player and i believe they are able to watch under a few different formats. However, I cannot use youtube for all of my videos in the future because some may not be allowed on youtube and probably will get deleted.

Youtube converts your videos into FLV/Flash format. This is a very efficient, very well supported video format, as practically all modern graphical browsers can handle Flash video (even some handheld browsers). Youtube is streaming those videos, meaning they start playing while they are in the process of loading, so you don't have to wait for them to load before you begin viewing them.

If you have access to Flash Video Converter (comes with Flash 2004 MX, Flash 8 and Flash CS3, I believe), then you can do this conversion yourself.
