Coppermine has sure made some improvements since I last did an upgrade. Their program is now W3C CSS and W3C xHTML Valid.

What a pleasent surprise!

Last time I used it about 2000 images in 150 categories was about all it could handle with ease from the front end.

It may use valid CSS, but is it still using tables for layout, with CSS just for font styling and such? Likewise, valid to what? If it's XHTML 1.0 Transitional with CSS littered throughout the HTML then it still isn't very impressive (to me, a harsh judge of CMSs) -- even if it is an improvement, it may just represent band-aiding a mess until it validates. I should probably have checked it out before posting, but last time I did it the output markup was pretty dismal.

I am about to leave coppermine behind duew to db issues. I think the number ands size of images is now too large to handle. Any suggestions?

A minor error on validation. Funny TYPO in coding.

Tables are valid xHTML, even though I do not use them to Design With. Inline CSS is also valid by W3C standards. It is still a lot better than NOT VALID.

Odd Fact: Not much out there that is any better!

Big Bison: I fixed their minor validation problem on my web site. Still a NIGHTMARE in TABLES and Inline CSS.

If you're feeling up to it, you can always go in and edit the theme.php file to make everyting nice and clean. It'll make upgrading a nightmare, but it can be done ;)

I have a table that keeps crashing but that is not really a css/xhtml issue. I could try a fresh install and recreating the gallery.

I have only had one problem with a Coppermine DB and that was a Security Breach by allowing anyone to use. Now that I register all users I have no problem.
