Heya guys,

I'm in the process of documenting the current project I'm working on by using wordpress which is installed locally.

At the moment I'm possibly thinking of recording my own audio/mp3/podcast clips as reference (as none of this stuff will see light of day, it's just more for my personal use so I can build up a report that will be due in a few weeks).

I know sites like pluggd.com allow you to search within podcasts, but I was just wondering if any of you knew of any services/tools that would create transcripts of podcasts?

This isn't a major priority but it was just something I was curious about and thought I'd ask.

Hope you all had a good weekend!

Are you talking about software that is speech-to-text?

Yeah that's most probably the best route for me to approach.

I know Vista has very good speech to text support, but I don't have Vista :) Ideally the solution would have to be a freeware service/software.

I don't know of any good free ones that will automatically convert audio files into transcribed text files. A good paid for program to look into is:

You can get this program for almost nothing with the academic discounts available. It seems to work very well, and from what I have seen is that it has an automatic file converter as well as speech recognition (way better than that with Vista).
