I'm unaware of the others (browsers), but I came across the Firefox one after installing it on my brothers computer, and typed ie after to see if there was others.
I love some of the stuff Google comes out with, especially when they don't have to, they just do anyway. Catering for the competitions company is also clever and not in the slightest narrow minded, I don't think I can say that about Microsoft at the present moment.

I often wonder how much they guys who come up with these ideas get paid. They certainly seem to have the right idea.

I tried Opera and Netscape. I guess maybe we can see Google's preferences?

Netscape is FireFox, only AOLified. Opera is not on their radar, at least not yet. Notice how the FireFox page is nice and purty, and the IE page looks like doodoo.

Jamie - I wonder how they decide to use them. Like you say, they always seem to have the 'right' ideas, it seems they keep well in touch with users preferences and the 'better' products.
Corey - I'm sure somewhere on Google you will find a list of preferences, maybe the blog? Then again, IE and Firefox are the leading browsers (At least on the w3 statistics) so maybe they only cater for these 2? Opera didn't work for me either ... 404

Yea, that Firefox Google page is the default start page for Firefox 1.0 when you install it.

That IE page looks awfully similar to the page (don't know the link) they have designed for pda/cell phone users.
Then again, not sure why they would have the toolbar ad on it if it wasn't intended for IE.
