Just came across a link to this:

http://artlung.com/smorgasborg/C_R_Y_P_T_O_N_O_M_I_C_O_N.shtml

Haven't had a chance to read it all yet because I'm a bit rushed but bookmarked it to read fully later. Found some of the metaphors he's using to be quite amusing (hippies building tanks to describe the open source movement, ronald regan as a web browser etc).

Also brought back a few memories about when I first went to university (mainframe terminals, batch processing and teletype machines - showing my age here!).

Thought you guys might find it interesting anyway.

Very good find. I think Neal is just brilliant. I've read lots of his stuff. It's really amazing, yet makes absolute sense when you stop to think about it. Took me long enough to read it too (3 hours yesterday and an hour today).
