Most of us will have been visiting forums from the start of our development diaries, so... what is your most embarrassing post to date?
Which was the worst post that you made that you thought was a good idea at the time but now you look back on it it was totally stupid?

I'll get it started:
Back in the very early days of my development career, (1999/2000) I posted on the web design group BBS with something along the lines of... "Could somebody please give me an idea for a web site as I would like to design one but cannot think of anything to design one about".:lol:
I was thrown a number of ideas, about how to go looking around my local area etc, then a name appeared ( I won't mention the name, that is too embarrassing). Apparently he was a singer.
I spent countless days researching this guy and in the end created a shocking site (1 page site).
I now look back on it and think... what a pillock!
It showed one thing. I was dedicated! ;)

Amazing how our most embarrassing threads are often our first ones.
I decided, for no particular reason, that my first thread ever on any forum or BBS would be a fixed v. fluid debate, where I staunchly defended the practice of fixed width design. I got positively bent over by the BBS regulars - it was just incredible. Still, it took months for me to fully appreciate their points. Oddly enough, one I did, I started to get much bigger accounts.
I'll have to ask Darin, the moderator, to dig up that old thread from the archives for me so I can have another look at it. It's priceless.

I can't really remember a specific one, but I have made a few stupid posts - mostly from the standpoint that they ramble and hardly make any sense. I've been doing design for about 9 years, but I never really got into forums until about 3 years ago. At that point, I was mostly a lurker, and tended to do a lot of searching. I also proofread all of my posts at least twice before hitting that button. ;) That's saved me quite a bit of grief.
