I was just going over my bank statements today and found out that my account which can have NO overdraft has gone into debt :o I called the bank to find out what was wrong and they told me my online phone support has been suspended and to go into a branch with my card and 2 forms of ID to sort out the support problem.

I have already cancelled the direct debit that I didn't even sign for just to make sure. Tomorrow first thing I am going to the branch to find out why the hell they paid a direct debit that I didn't sign for which put me into debt and a request to see the authorisation that they had to recieve to give them the money.

Since I signed up last year I've had nothing but problems with Halifax. HSBC treat their 'clients' so much better and I'll definately be re-opening an account with them.

Upon reading the topic I thought you meant Halifax referring to the place, I was going to agree with you (As I live there) ;)

I have had a great service from Halifax, maybe that is because I havent been with other banks so their service just seems good.

Maybe I'm just one of those accounts that screws up with that company, but I think it's shocking that they allowed me to go into debt with something I didn't sign or have the total amount for.

Turns out some insurance company *thinks* I signed for mobile insurance (Which I didn't). But Halifax shouldn't of made the payment, but they called the insurance company ajnd cancelled transactions etc. They also corrected errors without more coming out my pocket.
