First IWDN get-together???

Hi Everyone,

It turns out by coincidence that Zopester is going to be traveling near me this weekend, and we're trying to arrange some time to get together. The central meeting point for us is Erie, PA, and we're open to either Saturday or Sunday (but probably Saturday). That's probably not too convenient for most others, especially our non-U.S. contingency, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask!

Is anyone else interested/available/close enough to meet up as well? Post here if you are. If not, don't worry...if I have it my way, we'll be doing this sort of thing a lot in the future ;)

I'd love to come, but Erie is a good 8-10 hours from me, if not more. Now, someplace in Ohio, for instance, would be better for me (I can get most places in Ohio in about 6 hours or less). On this short notice, I doubt I could swing it. :(

I told Amy you were right on the Ohio border and we should make a day trip/surprise visit sometime. I suspect with the potential for collaborative work we have going right now, I'll probably have to swing out there sometime on business......at least that's how I'll position it in my taxes :lol:

Indeed, though we've discussed getting together in NYC sometime next year, courtesy of sea otter. That can't be too far :)

Well, the first (un)official IWDN meet-up went quite well. Minus some problems with directions, we had a splendid time eating fish'n'chips, bangers and mash and drinking Boddingtons chatting away about anything and everything under the sun. 2-1/2 hours has never gone by so quickly :)

Well, we had a great time too Paul. Sarah and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, and we hope we can do it again very soon.

One aside - we were going up 90 towards Buffalo, about to cross the state line back into NY when a PA sherrif pulled us over. I was doing 82 in a 65 zone! Oops. Fortunately he thought we were tourists - UK drivers licence in a rental car - and let me off with a warning. :) So, all-in-all it was a great day!

Make sure you get down to Texas soon. That goes for everyone!
