In my office a news story has just been read out, UK news, proclaiming:

Humpty Dumpty is to be banned from viewing as it is proven to cause children to be more violent and depressed

What a load of crap![/quote]

Wow, and I thought Americans were politically correct sticks-in-the-mud! I guess we're not so bad after all :D

Crap, I can't even remember that rhyme anymore! Now I am curious = how they came up with this conclusion? I mean if the children were reading & reciting that rhyme, I am sure they were reciting a lot of other rhymes as wel. Personally, I hated hickory dickory dock - (terribly frightened of mice)

lol Corey.

It's stupid, no offence to Americans but the Uk is getting more and more like the bad parts of the US.

Actually it makes sense:

Humpty - blatant sexual reference

Dumpty - street slang for excrement

sat on a wall - obvious reference to the psychedelically inspired movie/album by Pink Floyd

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall - continuing reference to the experience one might have of crashing after partaking in illegal substances

All the king's horses and all the king's men - phrasing of this statement suggests a relationship between the two parties mentioned, the undertones of which could be evocative of bestiality.

couldn't put Humpty back together again - something so nasty and profane, I can't post it here.

Yep, this is clearly no good for children. Such filth...

Children don't have a clue about that stuff though. "Oh son get me my methane" with a reply 'Are you detoxing?' doesn't happen does it?

Kids are sitting on a wall, one of them is a bully... suddenly he starts singing:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall...

SMACK!

He pushes a poor innocent, yet strikingly handsome young adult of the wall. Everybody laugh at him, he is nicknamed 'dumpty' for the rest of the summer...

So dont laugh at me! Stop laughing at me! STOOOP!!!

There's violence near me all the time, I think my niece and nephew are exposed to more violence watching out the window than watching humpty dumpty

and what about elmo, we all know about him when hes off the air ...

 Don't give them ideas. At this rate, one day cartoons will be more boring than school to an average child.

Valid point, but, I really dont see the point in banning anything at all, its just a big balls up once again.

Yea, thats what im saying, theres no point in taking entertainment aeway from children, they'll get bored and wander the streets, its a lose lose situation for them!
