On MSN sites when trying to play a video, you get this message (When using Firefox);

To use MSN Video, you need to install some free software. To download the required software, click each link below, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 1: Download Microsoftİ Internet Explorer 6 for free
Step 2: Download Microsoft Windows Mediaİ Player for free
Step 3: Start MSN Video

I just went elsewhere.

When you try to access Hotmail using Opera, you get a message stating you're using inferior browsing technology, and some features might not be operational. Then it asks you to either download IE or continue on understanding this important bit of information.

Bastards.

Yea, it really is shocking, they're tryng to control everything which is wrong. There's a huge difference from being the best and controlling, and Microsoft have made it clear to me that they just want control.

This is another reason I don't understand MS and their fanboys. IE is clearly a dead technology with little to no respect for web standards, yet MS and others have the gall to inform users that their site won't work unless they use an inferior browser. Unbelievable.

Err, googleOS?

I thought this was all rumour to be honest. Although I did find this on a review site;

Google isn't worried about Yahoo! or Microsoft's search efforts...although the media's focus on that is probably to their advantage. Their real target is Windows.

I believe Google has their own operating system at the moment for their "super computer"?

You can try logging into Hotmail with a UA spoofer in place and see what happens. Maybe Opera's default UA String triggers the warning page too - I'm not sure.

Yea pmod, thats the one i was meaning, they were thinking about releasing it to the public for home use, after some tweaking first, of course.

Lets jus hope it aint as fiddly as MS's OS's
