View Full Version : All Nighter Working ...

I've stayed up all night working on several sites for to many nights now, and sleeping from about 9am until 4pm, not healthy, but the girlfriends away.
How many other people do this? Or is it just me whilst I'm between jobs (AKA unemployed)?

Let's see, I work from 8-5 at Diebold. Then I pick up client work as it comes my way (I just had an unexpected surprise yesterday from a repeat customer wanting a new site built). My girlfriend is finishing up nursing school, so she's studying quite a bit. I work during that time, and I work some evenings (she doesn't live with me, yet). But I only sleep 3-4 hours every night, so I give myself plenty of time to socialize too.
I'll have to slow down one of these days, but I'm not too concerned about that yet. Today, Amy's studying hard for her test on renal failure, and I'm doing some board mods and starting a new layout. I think I'm going to build a fire too. It's actually quite relaxing having quiet get-stuff-done time :)
Just keep the entrepenuerial spirit alive after you've found employment. a) we don't want to lose you to the outside world! and b) there's nothing more satisfying than being your own boss, even if it's just for a portion of your professional life.

I usually average about 6 hours of sleep (12 to 6), before I go to my day job. I do client work on my lunch hour, and then again when I get home. My weekends, for the most part, are spent doing client work as well. I do often stay up Friday and Saturday nights working on client sites, especially during the past few weeks.

How do you think I met Pinky? after three sleepless nights you tend to see things at 4:18 AM.

Perhaps the portrait of Pinky in your profile should carry her name on it, so everyone knows who she is...

I am not a night person - usually in bed by 10p (sometimes even earlier). Now waking up - that is a different story. I sometimes have gotten up as early as 1:30A in the morning. Usually though I wake up about 5A on the week days & 6A on the weekends. (And of course a nice little nap in the afternoon :) )

I think I must be the only person who thinks sleep is the best part of life. ;) Usually in bed for 10pm, up at 8am on weekdays and no earlier than 10am on a weekend usually.

Damn straight. Kinda annoys me if someone stays up with me to talk to me while I'm doing stuff, I'm like "you should go t bed it's late" lol.

I don't plan on making any new friends during the night yet ;) But I'm sure you and pinky are happy together

If sleep was optional and not mandatory to maintain your health then I think I would rather stay up most the time. Difference in opinion ;)
